Our primary responsibility is to organize the Torch Relay event when it comes through Morgan County on Friday, September 23, 2016. This includes identifying at least 20 county residents who wish to be torchbearers and the celebrations planned for the courthouse square in Martinsville on that day.
The Committee meets the third Wednesday of each month, beginning at 6:30 p.m., at either the Mooresville Public Library or the main branch of the Morgan County Public Library in Martinsville. The public is welcome to attend our meetings and should check our Facebook page for the location of our next meeting.
To date, the Committee has had a dozen projects approved by the Indiana Bicentennial Commission as legacy projects. Check our Events page for more details.
